Biographies

Tim Hill has been involved in street band, improvisation, folk music, cooking and creating outdoor events for over ten years. He plays and researches English village band music with the ‘Mellstock Band' and runs ‘Tongues of Fire', a wind, brass and percussion group playing new music and street band material from around the world. He also leads the ‘Albion Horns' a village band based in North Curry in Somerset run in association with Folk South West.

Recent projects include working on the Ulverston Lantern Finales, street band and performance projects with Welfare State International, ‘Folk South West' South Hill Park Arts Centre, and Cowley Carnival. He has also run street band workshops for Traditional Arts Projects, Hands on Music, M Zone, Liverpool's Youth Action Zone, WOMAD and the Sidmouth Festival.

Tim composes new music for winds, brass and percussion, recently working on a street band and processional project with funding from the Arts Council England and has helped recreate outdoor band sounds for TV and film productions like ‘Return of the Native', ‘Far from the Madding Crowd' and ‘Tess of the D'Urbyvilles' . Since 1995 Dave Young has been gently tweaking the knobs of reality, trans-muting found, used, discarded & recycled materials into strange and unexpected new forms. He has worked as a sculptor, animator, junk alchemist, blacksmith, welder, maker, rigger, cook and performer. Amongst other things he has created giant blue spotted concrete dragons, solar powered Edwardian Spaceships, wind powered giants, radio controlled twittering machines, fire-sculptures, flotsam & jetsam puppets, air powered bugs on rickshaws, cycle powered sound sculptures and now, Leviathan Horns.
